Talley-O is the collaboration of Taylor and Kelley [TA+LLEY] with a side of "O".
Where does the fox come from? Tally-ho is a very old traditional cry made by huntsman to tell others game has been sighted. It was first used in fox-hunting during the 19th century. Also, we just like foxes.
Our foundation in advertising and marketing has shaped our process and design. We developed creative campaigns for national accounts, each unique to their mission statement and target audience. Our goal with Talley-O design is to combine this experience and gear it toward a more intimate work relationship with our clients, both on a local and national level. When you work with Talley-O, you know who you are working with directly. We take our communication and design work seriously. Your investment in your brand is emotional and soulful—we aim to create beautiful, forward-thinking design to reflect your desired aesthetic and values.
Liza graduated with honors from Maine College of Art with a BFA in Graphic Design. She was an art director at the VIA Agency for 5 years creating work for national brands including Welch's, Maidenform, Seagram's Escapes, Backyard Farms, Lojack, DuPont, and Dundee Beer.
After leaving VIA, she fine-tuned her print design skills freelancing for a publication designer for 4 years. She has a passion for pretty publication design, dynamic branding and strong storytelling. She lives in South Portland with her husband Patrick, daughter Sylvia, labernard and Maine coon cat. She enjoys traveling, gardening and painting.
Rachel graduated from Bates college with a degree in fine printmaking. She designed various boutiques throughout Seattle, WA. She later moved back to Maine and started at The VIA Agency as an account executive. While at The VIA Agency she managed accounts for Seagram's Escapes, DuPont, Unum and Colonial Life.
Rachel later worked at an independent design studio as a production designer and design assistant. She lives in Cumberland with her husband Andrew, 3 boys—Lincoln, Oliver and Julian, and the newest addition to the Taylor family, daughter Georgia.
Kirk graduated with honors from Maine College of Art with a BFA in Graphic Design. He has worked in entertainment design for the Ogunquit Playhouse and the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. Kirk currently freelances for Amish Country News, a Pennsylvania-based magazine, as well as working with York County Community College as their principal designer.
A big nerd, he lives in York, ME with his partner Jim where he moonlights as an actor at Clay Hill Farm Restaurant performing shows like Edgar A. Poe and an original one-man-musical, A Christmas Carol: A New Musical Tale.
Kathleen has been writing copy since before the Internet, so she draws on a deep well of experience across marketing categories and disciplines. Fresh from The VIA Agency, her ability to craft engaging communications will help Talley-O clients tell their stories cohesively and compellingly.
Starting in New York and now in Portland, she learns from every assignment and interaction. Her favorite experiences include deep dives into branding and new product development for Neutrogena and Nivea (leaving really hard parts to the scientists), sales collateral and press releases for Clairol and Revlon, and TV, radio and digital for Samsung, Popsicle, People’s United Bank and Golden Corral, among other clients.
The work needs to get out of your head and on the table. And it needs to be done from the heart.
